Improving Internet Connectivity to Support Community Education
The New Opportunity School for Women is dedicated to equipping under-resourced Appalachian and Kentucky women with the tools to foster self-knowledge, build confidence, and access resources that can enhance their financial, educational, and personal well-being. A crucial component of this support involves facilitating education through online meetings, making reliable internet access imperative.
Amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the school transitioned all training activities to an online format, underscoring the essential need for a robust internet connection. Previous struggles with an unreliable provider resulted in weak internet signals, spotty phone service, dropped calls, and frequent disruptions during streaming presentations. Robbie Pentecost, Executive Director, noted, "We were in need of a better solution. Our IT team recommended Metronet. Since making the switch, we couldn't be happier. Now, we can depend on our internet and phone services to function seamlessly when needed."
